Media e digitale
Ostia TV, a broadcaster dedicated to local news, in-depth reports and multimedia content, chose to offset the emissions linked to editorial activities, video production and newsroom management, supporting certified projects selected by Terravives.

Ostia TV's contribution
4 tCO2eThe partner
Ostia TV is an online news outlet dedicated to the Roman coastline, featuring news, in-depth reports and video productions.
The supported project
Area rurale di Zhangye, Gansu, Cina · VCS Registry, ID 1859
The project distributes solar cookers to rural households to replace part of the coal used in meal preparation. Solar energy avoids the emissions linked to burning coal.
Project map
The project's annual figure and the partner's contribution are two distinct measures. The specific retirements remain fully listed in the documentation.
Three illustrative comparisons
Three everyday references help read the same amount of CO2e from different angles.
It's the same quantity represented in the three comparisons below.

driven by an average petrol vehicle (US reference)

average absorption in one year

equivalent emissions
Indicative comparisons: three ways of representing the same quantity, not additional interventions actually carried out.
Vehicle: tonnes ÷ 0.000393 tCO2e/mile × 1.609344 km/mile. The EPA factor uses an average US petrol passenger vehicle, 2022 data, and includes tailpipe CO2, CH4 and N2O; it does not account for the fuel's life cycle.
Urban trees: tonnes ÷ 0.060 tCO2/tree/year. This is the average annual absorption from the US model over the first 10 years of growth, varying by species, age, climate and survival rate. It does not represent a reforestation project or trees actually planted.
Petrol: tonnes ÷ 0.008887 tCO2e/US gallon × 3.785411784 litres/gallon. It covers combustion emissions, not extraction and refining.
The comparisons use EPA factors referring to the United States, not Italy. The trees entry expresses CO2; vehicle and petrol are expressed in CO2e.
