The project

An intervention tied to its territory.

The project installs and rehabilitates wells in Zambia's Central Province to provide a safe water source for rural communities.

How it works

Emissions avoided by replacing fuel-based water boiling.

Manual or solar pumps make water available without the need to boil it over wood-fired stoves. The reductions therefore come from the fuel avoided under the baseline scenario, not from CO₂ removal.
